A girl in Paris
I observe. My mood sets the tone and I find myself walking the streets in search of that which reflects it. What I feel, I sometimes see in others - or I`d like to think I do. Invisible in a crowded world I notice the loud people first. They sometimes make me laugh. But the quiet ones are the ones that intrigue me. The ones that are lost in their own thoughts and don`t think I see them.
Besides the familiar scents there’s the sensory overload. The constant buzzing I’m surrounded by, subconsciously stressing me. Sometimes I just need some space. A quiet moment to think. But can I find it? I can find variants of them and I guess that’s what people do. Sit on a stairway and listen to the hums of people talking and the doves fighting over a half-eaten burger someone left behind. Or inside the impressive churches. But even in the midst of the biggest church yards human voices and distant sirens disrupt the peace I think I’ve found. I can suddenly wake up in the middle of the night because the rubbish bins are being emptied and the rubbish lumber’s are having loud chats and laughing. Even though I know I can never make this city that never sleeps be still, I try to create the peaceful moments with my camera.
